Awarded to a college-bound, graduating senior from the DTA’s Tennis and Education Academy.
Lee Hamilton was responsible for promoting the USTA’s mission to develop the growth of the game of tennis and was a leader in the multicultural participation initiative. Known to friends and family as “Lee,” he was president of USTA Texas from 1999-2000 and had served as the United States Tennis Association’s Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer since 2003. At National Lee was know as “The Father of Diversity and Inclusion.” His decades of volunteering and community service are remembered by all who knew him.
The Lee Hamilton Scholarship Fund was established to continue his legacy of support for the game of tennis; using it as a tool to provide opportunities and education for youth in under served communities.
